Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses
Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses is an incredible business that makes things happen – everything they do has their family values at the core (they’re a fourth generation family business) while being hugely innovative in their approach.
(Their cheeses are also amazing. If you haven’t tried Blacksticks Blue yet, what are you even doing?!)
Butlers has brought together artisan food and drink producers from across the North West to create “The Butlers Larder” – a service that delivers fresh produce to doorsteps in five counties in the North West - Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.
They built an online platform (literally in one weekend with the very talented Farrows) so that it can reach more homes and involve even more small businesses. It’s curated selection of the most exciting food & drink (from cheese, milk, yoghurt and eggs to fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, tea, coffee and gin – because we all need gin) from the best artisan producers, means that people can taste the best that the region has to offer while supporting small businesses.
These small businesses are brilliant at what they do and power local economies - Butlers want the Butlers Larder to shine a light on these producers and their amazing products.
Which is where I come in – I have been helping to drive awareness of the Butlers Larder with a media relations campaign. We have had some fantastic traction with the Telegraph and the Guardian as well as a host of regional newspapers and regional radio.
No question, the Covid-19 crisis has changed the PR and communications landscape, but as long as you remain relevant and timely with your content and remain sensitive and close to the changing news narrative, it doesn’t mean that you should be afraid to communicate.
